Phil Harding

with Wessex
Archaeology,

s they stepped ashore in the
year of

Lord
1634,
the
colonists
knew
tha
t
this
was
the
mom
ent they had been waiting for
during
the
more
in their previous lives.
The reception they received from the
local tribes was better than they could
have expected. They were welcomed and
