A lot of di erent open tournaments came to an end, let’s
review a few of them:
One of your commentators, Arkadij Naiditsch, managed to

The Rilton Cup was won by Maxim Rodshtein with the
amazing score of / ! Second place went to the second of the
World Champion, and this is Jon Ludvig Hammer, with a very

At the moment a very strong rapid event is under way in
Estonia: the Paul Keres Memorial! A lot of Super GMs are
participating: Svidler, Gelfand, Vitiugov and many more.
Already in a week from now we are going to see the opening
ceremony of the Super tournament in Wijk aan Zee, where the
World Champion Magnus Carlsen is going to try and continue
his winning strike!

White.
We are going to see a short, but very nice victory of Maxim,
who became the tournament winner with one of the best
results of his chess career with / !

It is hard to say what both players are trying
to avoid. Anyhow we will see a rare and tricky move order in
the following moves.

Maybe black was trying to avoid the ...d .d line,
which could end up in a Catalan a er ...e .c or a Gruenfeld

very solid setup for Black.]
