Dog Buffy and His Family
Hello! My name is Buffy
Today I’m with my Mom and Dad. I love them so much that I
decided to bring them to this pattern with me (hope you don’t
mind).
I live in a big playroom with my master.
Sometimes he takes me to school. Children
always pet me and play with me when I jump
out of my master’s bag.
I have a few brothers and sisters, but they live
far away from me. One day, in my dreams, I
saw that I met a lot of other crochet Buffys in
school and we played all day long while our human
friends were studying.
I hope my dream will come true soon with a little bit of help
from you. Who knows, maybe one day I will meet my new
crocheted brother or sister somewhere.
Don’t let me wait for long, grab all you
need and start your project!
About this pattern
Buffy is crocheted in continuous
spirals without joining the
rounds. You will need a stitch
marker to keep track of where
the beginning of each round
starts. Move the marker up to
the first stitch of the next round
after finishing the previous one.
I use USA terminology for my
pattern (don’t worry if you use
UK terms, all the differences are
explained in the pattern).
This pattern is easy to follow
with step-by-step instructions.

Finished size
Approx. 19 cm (7.5 inches) from head to toe (mother and father)
Approx. 13 cm (5 inches) from head to toe (baby dog)
Tip (marker)
If you don't have a stitch marker,
you can always use a scrap of
contrasting yarn instead.
Materials and tools
You will need:

Yarn (mother and father) – Smoothie DK (219 yards (200 meters) per
100 grams (3.53 ounces)) white for the muzzle, black for the nose and
any color you like for the body.
!
Yarn (baby dog) – Fingering / 4 ply (231 yards (211 meters) per 50
grams (1.76 ounces)) white for the muzzle, black for the nose and any
color you like for the body.
!
Two small beads (3 or 4 mm) for eyes (or safety eyes for toys, or you
can embroider them).
!
1 button for the belly button
!
Stuffing
!
Hook 3.5 mm (mother and father)

Steel hook 2.0 mm (baby dog)

When making toys, you should use a much smaller
hook than recommended for the yarn you chose.
Make sure you crochet tight enough; otherwise,
stuffing will show through the holes.

If there are no special notes, the toy is crocheted
under both parts of the loop. In some rows, there
are special notes: ‘into the front loop only’ or ‘into
the back loop only’. In such case, you need to follow
these instructions.

6 sc in magic ring
Rnd 2:
(1 inc, 1 sc)

Now crochet using main color (in my case it is brown, I
use pink for better pictures)

to left), 4 sc along the top part of the forehead, 4 sc
along the left side of the forehead, 18 sc along the head,
4 sc along the right side of the forehead = 30 sts
