RFA Job Function Descriptions and Clarifications
The RFA Job Functions are for use by Avaya associates or associates in any of the Variable Workforces during registration for access to the RFA Application because of their involvement in Avaya Communication Manager, UCC or Avaya Security Gateway products.
Be sure you read through this document carefully, and select the job junction that most closely aligns with your job activities, as identifying all possible job titles within Avaya is not absolute for this activity.

COE Engineer
International Title: Engineer that would troubleshoot Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Security Gateway and/or UCC products at a Tier III level.
Do NOT use this job function if you are located within the COE, but are NOT a Tier III Engineer. Use the RTSC – International job function.
Desk PM
Design Engineer or Specialist.
FAST Engineer
Engineer that would troubleshoot Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Security Gateway and/or UCC products at a Tier III level, but is located in the field rather than a centralized service center.
RFE
Field Technician
One who installs HW/SW for Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Security Gateway and/or UCC products
FSM, CSE,
Sr. Tech,
DSIC, Tech Services
ITAC Engineer
Do NOT use this job function if you are located within the ITAC, but are NOT a Tier III Engineer.
PC – CSA
One who provides remote provisioning support for Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Security Gateway and/or UCC.
Field CSA’s,
TSO PBX Provisioning
PC – Tier III
One who provides advanced remote provisioning support for Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Security Gateway and/or UCC.
But is not a switch or messaging Tier III Engineer.
PC – Tier DBA
One who provides INADS, password file and license file support.
TSO DBA Provisioning
Project Manager
One who manages any type of project whereby RFA access/license/password files are needed.
Use if you manage a lab, classroom, Briefing Center, or are involved in other projects that require access to RFA.
PSO
One who provides implementation services via Enhanced Services Offers.
Professional Services Org
R&D Tier IV
One who would troubleshoot Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Security Gateway and/or UCC products, at a Tier IV level.
Tier IV Switch or Messaging Engineer
Do NOT use this option if you are with R&D, but not a Tier IV switch or messaging engineer.
RFA User Administrator
One who manages the RFA databases for BP/GAI accuracy.
Do NOT use this Job Function without first receiving approval from the RFA Helpdesk.
RFA User Managed Tables Rep
One who manages the database content.
RTSC - International
International Title:
One who supports the Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Security Gateway and/or UCC products, other than at a Tier III Engineer level.

Support
Use this job function and you are in international, but are NOT a COE or ITAC Tier III Engineer.
Software Specialist
One who is typically responsible for consultation and support or for station reviews and translations.

TSO Tier II
U.S. Title:
One who supports the Avaya Communication Manager, and/or UCC products, other than at a Tier III Engineer level, or provisioning level.
ADS Engineer who supports the Avaya Security Gateway products other than at a TIER III Engieer Level or provisioning level.

Contractor
One who is contracted by an Avaya Field Services Manager on a job-per-job basis to perform a variety of HW/SW tasks.
