Bitty Blocks, Big Results
or many of us, the first of the year is a time to set resolu-
tions. Mine have ranged from exercising more to eating
healthier to decluttering. This year, I’m adding quilt dona-
tions to my list. Since my youngest son became a fire fighter, I’ve
always thought the gift of quilts to his station could be useful—a
bit of comfort for the people they help.
For years, I have used Bonnie Hunter’s Leaders and Enders method
to try and take a little bite out of my stash. In the process I have
sewn a lot of quilt tops! If you’re not familiar with Leaders and
Enders, you can learn more in Bonnie’s online course,

on Bonnie’s website, quiltville.com. Now is the time to finish these
tops. My goal is to complete and donate 12 quilts in 2016.
Each month during 2015, we gave the pattern for a new 3" or 4"
Bitty Block online. We provided sampler quilt ideas using the
blocks. Sewing Bitty Blocks throughout the year was like eat-
ing candy—once I started I couldn’t stop! They’re addictive! You

To wrap
up our year of Bitty Blocks, we invited three designers to cre-
ate a project using any combination of Bitty Blocks. Find Nancy

With the popularity of little blocks, we also created a sampler
using designs from
Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks
