nce again we find ourselves in the
‘issue-on-sale-at-Telford’ issue,
always one we like to make the best
of, and this year the current plan
seems to be falling into place – the idea being to pro-
vide you with something to read on the train as you
wend your way across the country to the show. For those
newcomers arriving from overseas, be of good heart. I know
it seems that little train you get on at Birmingham is heading
off into the Welsh interior at a leisurely stroll, but I promise
you it does get there in the end.
So we have been sure to pack plenty into November’s copy, and once
again to make the best of our contributors' efforts. We are, of course, mind-
ful that Telford generally coincides with Armistice day – and this year we
are unsure whether or not we are commemorating the anniversary of the
start of WWI or the finish. Just to be on the safe side we have a couple of
Great War pieces included, and I was particularly intrigued by Mr
Bunting’s discussion of Fokker D.VIIs in post-war service as Aggressors.
Historically we conclude the story of Korean Ace E.G Pepelyaev,
which has proved of enormous interest. I have more material from
this source planned, and I am also pleased to see more from
Robert Humphreys. My aim at this point is to get more ‘his-
torical’ writers contributing, so anyone with material
along these lines, do get in touch. I’d love to
hear from you.

The Big Show
Of course we are essentially a modeller’s magazine, and there is plenty of
cross-over here. Tony Grand is as far left of the mainstream as ever, and I espe-
cially enjoyed the piece on German Naval Aviation – this article is running as a
hint to Revell to release their superb new Tornado in the Grey/White markings
that suited the type so well in
Marineflieger
service.
So if you are coming to Telford we’ll be happy to see you at the stand in
Hall 3. Plenty of new product and lots of good deals to be had. I will be hoping
to meet as many contributors, old and new, as possible, so anyone wanting to
be a part of
