This program tells you a bunch of interesting stuff about your hard disk organization, including the files which are fragmented and in how many fragments they are broken up into in different places on your hard disk. This might be useful to unfragment them the simple way, by making more copies of them elsewhere until they come off the fragmented list and deleting the old copies and renaming the new. Kind of silly really, unless it's a major program you use everyday and your poor hard disk has to send its head flying all over the place to read it all into memory while the program is running. Much better to have it all in one piece and in order. Then again, you can use it just to tell you what subdirectories to defragment, if you have a defragmenter you trust. (There are a couple good ones, like SPDDSK from Norton Utilities.) And the first page is great for learning how your disk is organized and how big its clusters are and how they are numbered and in general is a bit more informative than CHKDSK.
