Easter is celebrated each year on the first Sunday after the first full
moon after the vernal equinox. The name “Easter” is thought to
come from “Eostre”, the Germanic goddess of spring. Easter is
widely celebrated in commemoration of the resurrection of Christ,
and of the coming of spring.
Tradition has it that on Easter a rabbit delivers eggs, a symbol of
birth and resurrection. Children look forward to receiving a basket of
candy and other goodies from the Easter Bunny. Another tradition is
the Easter Egg hunt, where children carrying baskets search for
eggs hidden in yards or fields. Easter Eggs are decorated in bright
colors, and make delightful decorations when placed in the basket
along with brilliant spring flowers.

bottom of the egg, as shown. Blow into one of
the holes to force the contents of the egg out
the other hole.
