Ν. Αγαπητοί ακροατές, χαίρετε. In the previous lesson we spoke about some European languages and the people, men and women, who speak those languages.

Α. Οι Άγγλοι, οι Γάλλοι, οι Γερμανοί, οι Ιταλοί,

              The English, the French, the Germans, the Italians,

οι Ισπανοί, οι Αμερικάνοι, οι Ρώσοι, οι Έλληνες.              the Spanish, the Americans, the Russians, the Greeks.

Ν. And their languages, οι γλώσσες τους.              their languages

Ε. Αγγλικά, γαλλικά, γερμανικά, ρωσικά, ιταλικά, ισπανικά, ελληνικά.

              English (language), French, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Greek.

Ν. It is appropriate here, I think, to give the names of the countries of these people,

τις χώρες τους. Η χώρα -- the country -- η χώρα.               their countries (acc).  The country

Η χώρα, οι χώρες. They are:              The country, the countries.

E. Η Αγγλία, η Γαλλία, η Γερμανία, η Ρωσία,               England, France, Germany, Russia,

η Ιταλία, η Ισπανία, η Αμερική, η Ελλάδα.              Italy, Spain, America, Greece.

N. Όλες αυτές είναι χώρες. Εμείς είμαστε τώρα στην Κύπρο.

              All these are countries.  We are now in Cyprus.

Cyprus, η Κύπρος.               Cyprus

Η Κύπρος είναι χώρα. Είναι μικρή χώρα. Η Αμερική είναι μεγάλη χώρα.

              Cyprus is a country.  It is a small country.

              America is a big country.

A. Έχω ένα φίλο στην Αγγλία.              I have a friend in England.

Ε. Και η αδερφή μου μένει στην Αγγλία.              And my sister lives in England.

Α. Κοντά στο σπίτι μας έχει μια οικογένεια από την Αμερική.

              Near our house there is a family from America.
