How to Interpret the RFA Material Code Job Aid
Overview:
With the introduction of RFA and license files came the need to create a correlation schema between the SAP material codes (used to order DEFINITY entitlements) and the commands within the license to activate these entitlements. This is accomplished using
Feature Key Words that are found in the RFA System Record (from the RFA System Record, a license is created.) A full explanation of Feature Key Words is posted on the RFA Information Page at: http://rfa.avaya.com.
What is the RFA Material Code Job Aid?
This Job Aid is an Excel file that details the mapping between the material codes that RFA processes and DEFINITY features, capacities, release, platform and offer category information.
(This Job Aid is also posted on the RFA Information Page at: http://rfa.avaya.com)
When do I use this?
Most often you will use this Job Aid to verify which entitlements a License contains.
NOTE: If a customer is entitled to a feature, capacity, etc., you will be able to see this entitlement in the Features Tab of the RFA System Record in the form of the Feature Key Word. (An example of a Feature Key Word is FEAT_ACD = Automatic Call distribution). Once you have the entitlement, you can turn the feature on/off by checking the box next to the feature, re-submitting the file and re-uploading the license to the system. If a customer is NOT entitled to a feature, you will NOT see this entitlement in this tab.
How do I use the Material Code Job Aid?
If you take a call whereby an RFA User says that a particular feature was purchased, but it is not operating within the switch, here are the steps help troubleshoot the issue:
1) If it is a NEW entitlement, verify that the feature the RFA User is asking for is in the SAP order information available in the RFA System Record, SID Tab. If it is a feature that was brought over into the System Record because of FET or tracking codes because of a migration, then you will see the Feature Key Word(s) in the Features Tab. (If you are not sure what the Feature Key Word is, look in the Material Code Job Aid for the Description of the feature (Column B). Then tab over to Column G to find the Feature Key Word)
Example: Customer has ordered Material Code 171187, which gives them 25 ports for IP Trunks. We see at the SID Tab, that the material code is there. See the screen capture.
2) Now go to the Material Code Job Aid, and find the Feature Key Word or WORDS that correlate to this material code.
i. VALUE_IP_TRK……. AND
ii. FEAT_H323_TRNKS
VALUE_IP_TRK = 25…..and
FEAT_H323_TRNKS = “On”
See the Screen capture.
3) In the Feature Tab in RFA, you will need to look at two settings correlating to these two Feature Key Words:
b) In the Type II Features, you will see the box Checked ”On” a next to FEAT_H323_TRNKS. (See the screen capture below)
In order for the feature to work, both of these feature settings must show the correlating inputs; namely a number (25 in this case) indicating the number of RTU trunks they ordered, and the box checked as “on”. And, we know this because the Material Code Job Aid, Column G, showed us this information.
